About the Warm-Up

The basis of the four-step warm-up is the two-part left-hand pizzicato as a practicing technique. This is practised in the first step with different rhythms. Then, in the second step, it is supplemented by thefeetwhich are led rhythmically independently of the left-hand pizzicato. In the third step, the left-hand pizzicato is supplemented by thebowwhich is also rhythmically independent of the left-hand pizzicato. In the fourth stepeverythingis trained at thesame time, i.e. the left-hand pizzicato is supplemented by foot work and the bow.

Are there any prerequisites?

Ideally, you can already read two rhythm lines at the same time. A simplification, if reading two lines at the same time is not yet possible, is linked in the booklet and can optionally be accessed via a QR code.

Who is the Warm-Up suitable for?

The warm-up is fundamentally suitable for all levels of ability and can be introduced, e.g. through a few simplifications, already in the beginning lessons. The level of difficulty increases from step to step as well as through the choice of rhythms and fingering combinations. Therefore, it is also very demanding for advanced students and can be designed to fit everyone at all levels of proficiency.

The booklet is consistently bilingual (German/English). | Learn more about the approach
